Summer Post: Simple and Classy with B&W

Hi Everyone!

Today I am posting a new post on my outfit from yesterday! I finished a great arm workout at the gym, followed by a yummy and nutritious breakfast full of carbs proteins and fats to refuel me before I got dressed for the day. As an athlete I really believe in fueling your body right, but I also do not think one should deprive themselves of the good things in life either so I have decided to incorporate fitness and food as well into my fashion blog. Additionally, I am in the process of moving my blog to Wordpress and am getting into photography (with some help from my grandfather) to start making my blog look more professional! Anyways, yesterday I spent the day at the mall with one of my very close friends and I decided to treat myself by purchasing unnecessarily overpriced- but oh so worth it- makeup at Sephora and MAC. We spent the day catching up which was nice since I go to school in New York and she attends college all the way in Colorado, it was a much needed mall date.:) Later that evening, my grandfather treated me to a very nice dinner at the Stanford Grill, where we both shared their deviled eggs starter, I ordered their fish special which was a crab and panko crumb encrusted cod served with tabbouleh, I highly recommend it! My grandfather went for the steak and mashed potatoes which also looked delicious, we then found our inner gluttonous side and treated ourselves to two huge desserts; he ordered the key lime pie that came with a mountain of whipped cream and I said f**k it and ordered the warm, succulent brownie (with nuts- my fav!!) that had a huge scoop of rocky road ice cream oozing down the sides, waiting for me to devour it, and I did happily.
Now to the important part, my outfit haha, I wore one of my favorite rompers I have purchased. It is a black and white, vertical pin-striped romper from PacSun but is Nicole Richie's line- House of Harlow. I absolutely love her jewelry and clothing line and the minute I saw this romper I knew I had to buy it. This romper is super light and comfortable, it's great for summer and can be turned into a day or night outfit because black and white is very classic. I paired it with my black Lucky brand sandals to make it more casual and summery. As for accessories, I wore one of my Lucky Layers necklace from Lucky Brand that had a oxblood square pendant with gold accents. I decided to wear my everyday rings which are from Free People, Michael Kors, Forever 21, and a little boutique in Nashville that I ran across while visiting. I obviously wore my rose gold Michael Kors watch that I wear religiously because you can never go wrong with a classic watch with any outfit. Furthermore, I added a little color with my bracelets which I absolutely adore because they are perfect for summer and give off a very bohemian look. The pink and yellow beaded bracelets are from Free People and the multi-colored and blue ones are from a boutique in Florida while I was visiting my parents. Those two bracelets are actually my favorite accessories because they are Chavez for Charity bracelets, so part of the proceeds go towards supporting a certain charity. What is really cool is each color bracelet supports a different charity, so multiple charities are getting funded throughout the world to help make a difference, so I highly suggest you go and buy one yourself, you can purchase them online as well! Last but not least, I carried with me my new purse which I got on sale at LF during one of their insane sales in SoHo, NY while shopping around with a friend. What I love about this purse is the color- tan- you can never go wrong with a nice tan purse because the color is so versatile, but it has fringe tassels on it and I LOVE fringe anything, it makes it look very boho and pulls my whole look together. I hope you enjoyed my post and found a little inspiration for today. Enjoy :)

Start of Spring: DC Style

Hey Everyone!

I'm back with another fashion post! I am currently on my spring break for the week and am visiting my family who resides in Maryland before taking off Friday morning to venture to the southern land of Alabama to watch my older brother participate in his last two collegiate lacrosse games before he graduates this year! I have a pretty hectic and busy spring break but it will most definitely be filled with fun and hopefully good times. Yesterday was my best friend's of eight years birthday, she transferred (guess we are similar lol) to The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C to pursue a degree in Music Education. She is wickedly talented and has a stunning voice that could amaze anyone. Not only is she an incredible actress/musician/singer but she truly has a beautiful heart and has always been there for me. I have not seen her in a very long time, fortunately my grandfather and I were able to make the trip to the beautiful District of Columbia and take her out to dinner at Matchbox Chinatown, which I highly recommend you go to and eat. It's a very quaint and funky little joint with an eccentric essence about it. My grandfather ordered the bistro burger which came with onion rings and Mackenzie and I split two entrees; she ordered the prosciutto & fig pizza and I got the calamari salad, both were surprisingly amazing and delicious. Also, just for future reference, I am a very, very, adventurous eater and love to try the weirdest foods you'll ever come across (I have eaten jellyfish- don't try it) so do not be surprised if I end up ordering more weird things that I recommend eating- I am aware figs on pizza might sound gross but is actually very delectable! We both ordered two mixed drinks- I can't remember the name of mine but Mackenzie ordered the Patio Pounder Lemonade which consisted of watermelon infused vodka, lemonade, and fresh watermelon. Lastly, we finished our meal with a good ol' fashioned warm brownie sundae with french vanilla ice cream oozing down the sides, topped off with whipped cream and fresh cut strawberries. It was such a great day and I'm so glad that I got to share a special evening with her. Also I am persuaded to transfer to Catholic because it is such a beautiful campus!

Now on to the important part, my outfit. I chose to keep it simple and what I like to call street hip/casual. I decided to wear a black and white Adidas logo top from Urban Outfitters. I layered over my t-shirt a really comfortable, denim MOTO fitted western shirt from Topshop which I purchased at Nordstrom. I love layering clothes and the contrast of black/white and denim goes so perfectly. Since it was windy outside that day, I wore my brown leather Maje jacket that I purchased in France a couple years of go. If you want advice on what things are worth splurging on and what's worth saving your money for a cheaper alternative, I believe saving your money for a good, quality 100 percent leather jacket is so worth the buy. I have had this jacket for about four years and it is still in pristine condition, not to mention I wear it religiously. For my bottoms, I went with my Zara black & ripped skinny jeans to match the dark color palette. For my shoes, I again went with a classic, white Converses to keep it casual and they're comfortable for walking in downtown D.C. Now onto my accessories! I actually have a lot of jewelry but I am attached to a select few pieces that I re-wear over and over again because to be honest, they just go with everything. I wore tribal, bronze/gold earrings from Forever 21, my everyday earrings that I always wear (read all my previous posts for where I bought them), and a black skinny belt from Target. Additionally, I wore my new sunglasses that I got for about five dollars at Forever 21, this place is great for really cute and cheap sunglasses because they actually look nice and not tacky. I really want a pair of nice sunglasses but I misplace mine too often to purchase an expensive pair haha I think once I learn to keep track of these, then I will buy a quality pair.

I obviously wore my red lizard lipstick from NARS which I swear by, please go buy this lipstick, I guarantee you WILL LOVE it!! I also have been wanting to try this hairstyle for a while because I saw it on a couple of girls and believe it might be a new trend this summer- especially for my boho girls. I watched a vlog online and decided to try it out, I put my hair into two pig tails, braided each piece and wrapped them into two buns. Yeah, I may have looked like a wannabe Miley Cyrus, but I personally love the buns and I don't care how weird she is, I love Miley. Yes, she is a complete freak, but she's her own person who does her own thing and she does not care what people think of her. If you think about it, she is actually quite smart for turning out the way she has because of all the attention she's generated around her erratic behavior, she makes billions off of it, so next time you go and judge Miley just think about how much money she makes over you for acting like the way she does lol- just a food for thought. I hope you enjoyed my long post today and stay tuned for more!

Simple with Dark and Neutral Tones: OOTD

Hola! I have not posted an outfit or anything for my blog since August purely because my schedule is absolutely insane and it honestly is very difficult to fit in blogging when I wake up to practice at 7:45 am everyday followed by lift with my team, classes, babysitting, and somehow try to maintain a social life. I think that is why I have reverted to drinking wine every night to help keep myself mentally insane, call me basic all you want, but wine is truly a girl's savior in life. Anyways, I am going to try to get back in the swing of things, I unfortunately won't be able to post as frequently as I want to but will try my best. I am going to post a picture of my outfit I wore yesterday and last weekend I went into the city and had the most delectable and mouth watering lunch with my friend at a quaint little restaurant named Jack Wife's Freda, I highly recommend it, followed by a day of shopping and purchasing overpriced (but mostly delicious) macaroons at Laduree Bakery in Soho! It was such a great day and yes, since I am a huge foodie, I feel the need to post a picture of what I consumed which I will share with you as well! As for my outfit- the important part of this blog haha- it was surprisingly not as cold as it was this past weekend which reached -3 degrees but the windchill made it feel -17, while my parents were nice and comfortable in Florida wearing shorts and flip flops in seventy five degree weather- yes mom and dad, I envy you. Since it was unexpectedly not below the point of freezing, but still cold, I decided to wear black skinny jeans and a black belt, both from Target that I purchased ages ago but still fit and feel great. I threw on a light, purple and white water colored print top from Anthropologie, I rolled up the sleeves and tucked in the front to make my look seem more effortless and relaxed. I never get the opportunity to wear this top and I really love it because it's so versatile and comfortable. Not to mention, it cost me a good amount (curse you Anthro), so I like to not waste a more pricey buy. Next, I wore a white, lace Free People bralette underneath that was 60% off from LF which I bought in Soho when they were having one of their insane sales. I then decided to keep the neutral tone theme by wearing my gray studded combat boots from Maje that I purchased while in Paris. As for accessories, since the top was printed, I kept everything relatively simple and in trend with the colors of the outfit. I wore a silver necklace which had a gray rock pendant from Garage and with the bracelets, I do not recall where I got the brown one, but the blue and multicolored bracelets are Chavez for Charity bracelets so when I purchase them, a portion goes towards a specific charity. The blue one supports Water, org whose mission is to provide safe, clean water for everyone in the world; the multi-colored bracelet supports the Matthew Shepard Foundation which was founded by his parents in memory of their son who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in October of 1998. This charity is trying to implement advocacy programs to help better understand and support the gay community which I think are both great charities to support. Lastly, I wore my four rings I usually wear everyday, the first one is from Free People, the next two are from Forever 21, and the last is Michael Kors. I hope you draw some inspiration for these last few weeks of winter to incorporate into your closet! Now as for my scrumptious brunch- I decided to go with the Mediterranean Breakfast which had 2 eggs- I got mine over easy- chopped cucumber salad, labne which is like a Greek yogurt, avocado, and instead of pita, I asked for multi-grain bread. There was some weird green sauce on the side which was questionable but as soon as I ate it, I never went back, it was addicting, and I got all of that for $13! I also got their cantaloupe mimosa which is out of this world, so freaking good! My friend ate their Madame Freda, which was a pressed sandwich with duck prosciutto, cheddar bechamel, gruyere, and a sunny side up egg baked into the bread. It looked amazing as well, and she drank their Bloody Mary. I high recommend this restaurant and will be going very soon in the near future! I hope you all enjoyed my post and have a lovely day. :)
